“The notes got shorter because the context finally lived with the work.”

Creative director, Studio Kestrel

The challenge

Reviewing motion over email meant notes like 'around 0:14, the logo feels late.' Notes arrived in three formats, and nobody was ever sure which cut they referred to.

The approach

We trained the team to treat every cut as a versioned round with a single decision point. Clients comment in one thread, anchored to the exact cut they watched, and every approval names the version it covers.

  • One shareable round per cut
  • Comments anchored to the reviewed version
  • Approval names the exact cut approved
  • Internal-only drafts never leave the studio

The outcome

Revision notes fell by roughly 70% because there was no ambiguity about which cut they applied to. Clients now turn rounds around in two days.
